First Baptist Church hosted a Community Christmas party to kick-off the start of the Holiday season on December 6th. The doors to the gymnasium opened at 6pm to over 300 event goers as they enjoyed an evening of holiday activities which included face painting, a coloring contest, silent auction, writing letters to Santa, balloon animals, a nativity scene, and of course... a visit from Santa and his elves. While waiting for Santa to arrive, our guests enjoyed snacking on a variety of their favorite holiday cookies with punch, hot chocolate or coffee. Free pictures were taken with Santa sitting in front of his workshop in the North Pole. Also, guests registered for a chance to win one of three Visa gift cards. Winners were announced the following day during morning services. The evening concluded with a gift presentation to every girl and boy as over 500 playground balls dropped from the gymnasium ceiling.
